About us

After many years of vineyard consulting in Napa Valley California, Louis and Jeannot decided to return to Louis’ ancestral home in Portugal to develop a boutique wine project with a vision to bring the New and Old Worlds together in a bottle of wine.

Following an intense climatic research in Silver Coast Portugal, an area with optimal climatic conditions for the classic Bordeaux grape varieties was identified in the municipality of Alcobaca, and with some effort, four individual adjoining properties were acquired, and united, into a single four hectares property to plant a Napa-Bordeaux style vineyard with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The four plots of land are divided in the middle by an east/west creek, with two plots to the north and two to the south of the creek, each of which, with a unique solar exposure, soil texture and fertility, highly conducive to quality grape growing for complex niche wines.

In summary, the combined moderate Atlantic climate and ancient Triassic soils on the property, imbue the blessing of nature, Louis and Jeannot affectionately call Quatro Terras
